I've changed over to natural gas heating but need to get oil tank with a few hundred litres of oil removed from garden. Anyone know who does this in the Dublin area and likely cost ?

How old is the oil? if you know someone else (eg family or a neighbour) who uses oil you should offer the oil to them.

Then once the tank is empty it's fairly easy to cut up, is it plastic or metal?

It's about 5 years old. Tank is plastic.

Horizon environmental or a similar company would look after that , they would suck the oil out of the tank then take the empty tank away , not sure how much they charge .

The oil is worth money so stick it on donedeal or something and you'll get someone who'll take tank and oil off your hands.

I used Diego Burner Services (google them), cost about €150 to remove tank plus oil and they even took down the wall under it so I had my garden back. Thought it was very reasonable. Didn't want some randomer off Done Deal in my garden to be honest, couldn't be sure they would dispose of the tank responsibly once they got their oil.

I am 100% sure since the OP asked the question over a year and a half ago, they my have already found someone! :0)

David with Diego is a good lad, know him well and would always give him the thumbs up

Agreed, but this thread still came up as a top search result when I was looking to dispose of my tank, and didn't give me the answer I was looking for, so I thought I'd share some wisdom ;-)

...and yes, David is a really nice guy!
