    Arggghhhh :D

Although I guess it's too young to have any imminent problems yet :p

They look beefy and have a very nice interior though.. are they still as unpredictable?

well i had a 8v mk2 and never had an ounce of trouble so for me, it being a fiat, isnt really a bad thing. these however are supposed to be much more reliable than the mk2 though.
i like its looks, its 95bhp is nippy enough and the interior is pretty nice place to be. for me the best thing is its rarity.
im gonna have trouble finding first hand advice because of that though!

I like them but not in that colour. Know sfa about them though :pac:

yeah not sure about the colour or the stripe RJ but theres so few for sale that i may have the bear the colour anyway. its not the worst but black or the GP red would be nicer. noone seems to know anything about them and its hard to get proper reviews of the 95 bhp unit. most are based on star/t jet models in uk

I saw that advert myself and I was thinking it would be a nice purchase. I like the colour and the interior trim. Decent price too!

im gonna get him down to 4600 id say. he said meet at 4750 but im sure he'd take it. taxed til next january though...dont know what to make of that. although when i was trying to sell my astra i had 7months tax on it aswell so it probably means nothing

yup your right! i am a long serving member of fiat forum. good place to get advice alright. the major problem i see alot of people having, not on the forum mind, is the 17" alloys causing strains on the gearbox?

Re; the stripe he mentions - I'd like the rest of it on the bootlid and rear bumper please! Or maybe it had some paint on the back, worth looking closly at.

right lads, so im going to view this on tuesday and taking it to john donohues in enniscorthy to run a diagnostic on it, anything i should look for myself outside of the ordinary with these? engine wise? getting a sizeable enough discount on it

Just about the box, if they're known for being soft just have a good listen to it for whining when test driving it :)

I think the stripe is done properly. There's nothing worse than a stripe that goes up from the bottom of the bumper, across the bonnet, roof, boot, and back down the bottom bumper. Looks like a kid with a roller did it. The proper striped cars like Shelby's never had it like that.

thanks lads, and these starjet engines are supposed to be very good. if its as reliable as my old mk2 8v ill be laughing :pac:

Thats a very decent car for relatively small money. You wouldnt get much of a VW for that money imo.

imma come take apart some fiat engines with you so please :) love fiat!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,234 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

its supposedly a totally different engine. most people are confused why it has less hp than the mk2b had but i think its down to emmissions. i feel like my astra is pretty nippy for a 1.4 and this has 7bhp more, and is 200kgs lighter so i might notice some difference

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,234 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

well, the guy just rang me and said its sold :( astra...youre coming back off donedeal....again. poor car! :D

You post a cheap car on a public forum what do you expect , but RJ could have been a bit more covert for awhile at least. That why my thread is called this weeks classic that i'm NOT buying !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,234 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

your man said this guy came to look at it/rang about it 2weeks ago though so maybe RJ was on it the whole time

I wouldn't do that to someone.

I'd get a wind up out of it though :pac:
