Friday is a bank holiday, not a public holiday. Therefore it won't automatically be docked from you.

With regards to your employer paying you for hours done, he is obliged to pay you for public holidays if you worked for 40hours in the previous 5 weeks, regardless of whether you were due to work on that day or not.

    Hey there

Sorry to hijack thread. Been working part time and claiming like poster above- (filling out the dockets) for the last 2 years and I have never been paid by my employer for bank/public hols. Usually i'm docked from social aswell!!!I work about 14 hours a week so i'd def work over the 40 hours in 5 weeks.

How can i go about fixing this?

    thanks

Here is a link to the act that you will need to bring to your employers attention http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1997/en/act/pub/0020/index.html
