    currently renewing my car insurance

29years old 3yrs no claims, 1.4vvti corolla no mods worth about ~2500

my cheapest quote ~€600 is with AA for insurance. the policy is underwritten by AIG

anyone got insurance with AA and AIG, is there anything that they don't usually cover as standard

the man that rang me today was v quick to point out that they as standard insure your no claims bonus

I must go read the small print on the documentation

They generally sell policy without breakdown assist cover and try to sell you AA membership for half price. It is not a bad thing if total cost is still cheap but definitely ask breakdown assist cover. I was with them last year but their renewal quote was almost same with previous year so I moved to RSA via 123.ie for %20 cheaper quote.

    That seems expensive to me!

AIG is called Chartis Insurance now too.

I'm with AA/chartis, I have aa membership anyway which I got before joining them, and they have employer discounts also. It's by far the cheapest for me, more so than any online quotes I got

I had a glance over the small print and didn't see anything unusual IIRC

If you want it cheap try 123.ie, €300 on a 2.5 MG ZT, 30 with full NCB.

rang around a few places last month.

AA with Royal Sun Alliance came in €60 cheaper than my renewal quote. Only issue with AA was their direct debit scheme charges I think a 4% charge where my company I was with was free to pay monthly
