PAYG dongle and home Modem

(Apologies in advance if this has been asked / answered before..)

My VF home broadband is offline (long story) and I have been using a VF Pay As You Go K3765 mobile dongle directly plugged into my laptop in the meantime.. on a "one week pass".

I have just tried connecting the dongle directly to my VF Huwaei 556 router and it is successfully allowing 2 laptops connect, so both I and my daughter can be online at the same time...

But my question is, how is this charged? Can I use the dongle this way on VF PAYG?

    thanks

Yeah sure, you pay as you go for the 1 week pass and thats whats the charge is for...

the data limits is where you could get charged a lot extra if you end up going over it...

i think the vodafone limit is 15gb a month!? not sure, you'd have to check your package but im sure the week pass has a less limit...

depends how much you use it, but 15gb for a normal use should be ok id imagine if thats what you have

hope i helped i trailed off there!

Thanks for the swift reply... I just wanted to be sure - didn't want to end up with a big bill! I just bought a new pass today, and for one week pass on VF the limit is only 2GB  (a month pass for €20 is 5GB).

Its enough to keep my teenager in touch with her pals, and therefore quiet! (though Youtube is banned for now).

... hopefully my DSL will be back up and running sooner rather than later!

    2gb for a week! :o

that's rather lame but yeah heavy websites and media streaming will easily use the data fast, it's upload included also, so it does kinda suck but it will get the basics are done for the average joe user

I'm not sure about vodafone, but if you reach your limit you may get a text or message warning about your about to go over... or the service will just stop. Sometimes there can be harsh charges per MB, (metoer screwing me for 40 quid one time then sending me a warning message!)

But as for plugging the dongle into the router, your just using the dongles payg connection I guess, tt's just the same thing as the just plugging the dongle into your laptop except it's into the router instead to share the connection.. I've never used vodafone before but that's prob what's going on... if it's not im sure someone will correct it!
