cant really post this in abroad section or any region as im not sure where to go. thinking to go away for the wekeend but just in ireland. would like a place with a decent pool, sauna and jacuzi a plus aswell :D in a nice sceneic location (coastal) with stuff to do not so far away, have a motor so 30 minute drive to do something would be grand. anywhere in galway, cork, waterford would be nice, don't want to go up north or in leinster.

would i be mad going this weekend, will it be mad busy everywhere? would prefer it not to be packed as i want to chill a bit

    cheers for any suggestions :D:D

hotel doolin in clare is class. cheap, nice and quiet. fuck all to do though. good for a filthy weekend.

edit: missed the bit where you're willing to drive a little bit, then there is a butt load of stuff to do in clare.

Not been, but the cliff house hotel in waterford looks nice in the ads. Google small luxury hotels of the world, and click on the irish section

It's a fantastic hotel. Bring lots of cash tho, it's pricey.

I often stay at the Oriel house hotel in Ballincollig in Cork for a couple of nights get up early, have breakfast in the Blue Cafe in Kinsale (Best pancakes!), Then drive over to West Cork and stay in the Marina hotel in Bantry. Drive over the cork/Kerry mountains around the ring of Kerry. Then home

I think they have a few weirdo guests left. It's mainly used for films and tv shows to shoot in these days.

Have a film about a run down weirdo hotel? It's the perfect location!

Manor House Hotels and Irish Country Hotels have a nice selection. I'd recommend Ballyseede Castle, stayed there a few times, lovely place and lots to do.

After Ardmore studios it's just about the most used film location in Ireland.
