    Hi all,
I've just been accepted onto a Healthcare Assistant course and I've
been reading about some of the modules etc and as part of the course it seems the Traineeship consists of 16 weeks off-the-job training with FÁS, 15 weeks integrated training (3 days per week with FÁS and 2 days per week with a host employer) and 5 weeks on-the-job training with a host employer.
This is my second attempt to get onto this course. My first attempt failed as i could not obtain a work placement due to the fact i went to various nursing homes etc a day later than other participants due to attending an interview. In 3 of the nursing homes i tried i was told "its a pity you didn't come a day earlier as we could have done with a male".So this time I'm trying to get a head start prior to the rush.
I'm living in Laois and if anyone could give me advice or offer me a placement I'd be very gratefull.I have a Cardiac First Response course done with Pre-Hospital Care Council to the level of responder.I am a Civil Defence volunteer and actively train in Healthcare and emergency response situations
