Vienna, Accomodation and Transport Advise Needed

    Hi All,

    I’m planning to go to Vienna in either June or July. I have 2 queries:

    1. Can anyone recommend a reasonably decent budget hotel within the city centre for a one night stay?

    2. I intend to figure out the railed public transport system before arriving. If anyone has experience using the system, any pointers on how to use it will be welcome (eg government websites to check out, recommended tickets to buy, things to beware of).

    Any help with the above will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance for all responses.

    I was in Vienna before Christmas and stayed at the Senator Hotel www.senator-hotel.at it was reasonable enough but 15 - 20 mins from the city centre by direct tram. The trams are easy to use you buy a ticket from a machine in the first carriage.
