Good Friday should be renamed 'Shit Friday', worst Friday of the year by far!

As far as I know OP the cinema should be open!

Cinemas make a packet on Good Friday.

I hear Cineworld in Dublin is actually showing The Long Good Friday too, just for the laugh.

Jaysus will you think outside the box. I love Good Friday. I love that you have to make an effort. The activity you end up doing is always more fun because of the effort. You can go down to the pub and drink the **** out of it any time, it requires no imagination.

I always try to do something I wouldn't normally do. It can be as cheesy or as kitsch as you like, you get a pass!

 By even mentioning or eluding to the fact you're having a barby, you have now officially jinxed the weather for Friday. I hope you're happy now that we'll all be sitting outside in the rain with a soggy burger and taking two hours to drink one bottle of beer.

OK maybe it's just me that gets jinxed when planning BBQ's WHICH I AM CERTAINLY NOT BY THE WAY, NOT ON FRIDAY..... shhhh, I may cook meat on an open flame outdoors though.

We should get some muslims or jews or whatever to complain about not being drink on Good Friday and that the tradition is racist and discrimitory.

Bring her round to yours for a few cans and a game of strip poker....well most people play cards on Good Friday....just make sure you 'load' the deck in your favour before she arrives!

I'm off to Belleek, Co. Fermanagh. Best day for craic in da pub.

Is also the reason why I voted NO in the "should Ireland unite" thread :D

So you're going up north to the pub on the ONE day of the year (excluding Christmas obviously) the pubs are closed?

Can you not think of something to do? Really?!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,592 ✭✭✭GerM

There will be the usual places to get a drink if you're gagging for a drink on Friday, CG. Hotel residents bars, trains, theatres and private clubs. There are sometimes places that do events where they open at midnight although I haven't heard of any this year. All a bit sad really.

Is it illegal to drink on good friday, or is it illegal to buy/be sold drink on good friday?
Would you get extra screwed over if you were caught drinking in a public place?
