I'm in Limerick city for the next few weeks with work and was hoping to get out to a decent driving range now and again. Even better would be a few holes somewhere in the evening when the weather is fine, somewhere quiet and cheap!
    Any recommendations?

Well you have Rathbane golf club which would be cheap and easy to get out on id say anyway. Not a great course though.
Also have Castletroy golf club which is a quality golf course and would be a bit dearer. Open singles on Wednesday's.
Ballyclough golf club is also in the city but id say it would be very hard to get a round of golf there.

Coonagh driving range is also available.

I'm guessing that Rathbane will be busy in the evenings now, seeing as it's pay and play.
Castletroy is a good call and is more open and interesting than Limerick Golf Club, which is quite tight and tree-bound - although it has an excellent clubhouse.
Not sure about driving ranges though.

Do you have the use of a car? There are a lot of options if you are willing to drive 30-40 mins (depends what side of the city you'll be)

East Clare Golf Club (would be my choice for a cheap quiet round of golf),Small Adare,Dromoland,Shannon,Ballykisteen to name but a few.

    Some discussion already here

For reviews of the courses look no further than Kevin Markham's book. It's in Easons also within easy reach of Limerick ;)

Unfortunetly Coonagh is the only driving range in the Limerick area really.
Rathbane would be cheap but it wouldnt be quiet, Castletroy and probably Ballyclough
would also both be quite busy when the weather is good.
You would have no problem going out for a few holes in any course as long as you don't mind
other people playing the course the same time as you. ;)
