Qualified Adult Question

My girlfriend who I'm living with is applying for Maternity Benefit at the moment and we had a question about applying for a "qualified adult". I'm currently on JSA but will be starting a job soon where I'll be getting less than the maximum allowed for a qualified adult. Should she claim for me? Are there any downsides to doing so?

Yes, if you are in working and qualify for the Adult Dependant Allowance, she should claim it!

No downsides that I can think of.

Seeing as I'm only starting my new job I don't have any documentation to back up I'll be getting less than the max. How would I go around that?

What happens if I get let go (it's only a temp contract)? Will I be unable to claim JSB/JSA?
