Arrived in playa de las Americas Tenerife yesterday and have rented a Scott speedster for warm weather training. It is seriously hilly here even if you aren't heading up the volcano.

Was having ice cream with the kids and either a seriously sad individual with all the gear arrived or he was a fully fledged member of the quick step team. He even had the socks. However, the bike is the best thing you could see. Eddie Merckx with Camagnolo. I'm starting saving up now.

I couldn't recognise him from the team website but he must have been a pro cyclist as he spent lunch fiddling with his bike computer and didn't say a word to his missus
