    Hi,

I've been on jobseekers benefit for 9months now after returning from 5months away and previous to that having worked full time for 18months. I got a letter today from the social welfare saying that my benefit was due to be stopped soon and that I could apply for jobseekers allowance. I'm background is in film&tv and I'm currently involved in a few non profit projects and volunteering in a production company to keep myself busy which hopefully will lead to some employment. Without my dole payments I wouldn't be able to survive and pay my rent. I am living in rented accomadation with my girlfriend who can cover the majority of it but needs my end to be able to pay the bills etc. How is it that some of my friends have been on the dole for years and haven't received any such letters? Any advice greatly appreciated before I go down and speak to them in person.

    cheers
