Missing a key on a Packard Bell BG45, tried ringing PB no joy.
Checked Maplin ad PC World no joy.
Tried ebay, none advertised but mailed a guy that sold others.

Google throws up a few places but hard to tell which ones are legit or not.
Has anyone use a place that delivered keys without issue?

Go down to some of the electrical recycle centres and see if any pb laptops have been discarded? There's one in ringsend dublin. Or maybe contact some of the electrical stores (power city, pc world) and see if any have returned dead pb laptops as part of the wee recycling program.

Good idea, I'll have a look at those.
PC World's suggestion was to get a USB keyboard and connect but I think the missus would rather have a broken key than carrying an extra keyboard around :)

http://laptopparts.ie/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_19_51&products_id=3586 sells replacement keyboards so maybe I'll get one of them. Seen laptopparts.ie mentioned here a few times.

Just rang your man and had a chat. Keyboard is 16 euro plus 6 shipping so €22 total. Reasonable I guess since PC World had offered to replace it for €80...
He also gave instructions over the phone on how to change it on this particular model.

Keyboard from laptopparts.ie arrived and I installed it myself, 55 Euro saved :)
