Hi all, not sure if this is the right forum for posting this but been using vdj and the hercules interface for the last year and everything was fine up until 2 months ago. 9 times out of 10 the tracks are skipping, very badly, its not until i plug out the hercules interface and just use the phones out on my laptop that everything seems fine! I would much prefer to have the hercules as i need it to listen to the song im gonna play next. Anyone else having this problem with the hercules? Anyone know what im doin wrong?

    Thanks in advance!

I can't remember if VDJ has an on screen indicator (like Traktor) to let you know when it's getting a midi input. If so, touch nothing and see if the s/w is getting a midi signal that's messing up the playback. Could be a dirty encoder, switch or pot inside the Mk2 that's sending dodgy signals. Easy enough fixed, once you open it up, with a can of air and/or switch cleaner.

Are the tracks only skipping on the master out? Or on the headphones as well?
And what exactly do you mean by skipping? Pops? Dropouts? Skipping forwards or backwards?

It could, I suppose, be a driver or latency issue. No harm to reinstall the Hercules drivers either and set up again from scratch. Can you play a tune outside of VDJ, with another media player, using the Herc as your soundcard? Would help to narrow it down to hardware or software.

Does it happen straight away or after a certain period of time? If its straight away I'd guess the controller, anything else and I'd point the finger at your laptop.

Latency issues probably; reinstall your drivers and check for conflicts. Also turn WiFi/3G Dongle/Bluetooth off.
