Looking for some crowd-pleasing house classics

    Hi all,

My wife is a professional jazz sax player. She had/has a gig recently where she improvised over house tracks the DJ was playing, along with a bongo player. It worked well but we are trying to make it work better by picking out a few tracks in advance that she can improvise over.

The reason I am posting this request for a few tips it to see if any house music fans can suggest some good tunes or a good place to look. (top ten lists, websites, kind of thing). Basically what we need are a few names of artists and/or tunes of this kind:

    1) House classics, anything crowd-pleasing with a bit of energy, maybe some familar samples, generally anything that will get the place in the mood. We are not really looking for esoteric, unknown stuff.
    2) Anything that sounds good with a sax (e.g. house version of Baker Street / Candy Dulfer kind of thing)
    3) Anything that you think would sound good with a sax

We are looking for anything that will sound good in a cocktail bar setting so that she can think of some solos to play on top of them.

Not sure if this link will help but it gives an idea of the ambiance of the place.

    Cheers,

p.s. Anyone who is looking for a sax player for lessons, gigs (www.saxsisters.ie) or a DJ interested in the kind of thing I described obove just PM me.
