Have you any or anyone you know have any experience of being hypnotized?
Here is why I ask.
My OH or Mine Fuher as I call her, directed me to give up smoking a while back and now she is demanding results.
I don’t want to try the nicotine patches as it is my belief that they are produced by the tobacco companies.
I couldn’t be arsed with will power as it seems to be too much bother.
So my other option is to be hypnotised. But I have my doubts about this kind of hokis pokis.
Like what if the person hypnotising me was to take a fancy to me and use me as some sort of sex slave, that would throw up all sorts of other issues and ruin a perfect relationship.
Worse still if he directed me to assassinate the leader of a foreign country which could lead to another world war and with December 2012 fast approaching I don’t want to be responsible for that.
Maybe it could unlock hidden feelings and oppressed opinions from my youth that would drive me to drink, hardly a steppingstone to Nicotine anti dependence.
So my question remains to you Internet Experts, is it real does it work and can the person hypnotising you take certain liberties.

unless you love onion then stay the hell away from them.

Yeah, I trained as a hypnotherapist. It does work but NLP is better.

Im a hypnotist. It works, and there is plenty of scientific research which shows why,but it wont for you, because you don't want to quit. A certain amount of will power is still needed, which you say you dont have.

When you're ready to quit, give it a go. but not before it, as right now you're quite sceptical and have no will power or want to quit.

But in all seriousness, like everything else, it works for some but not for others. The fact you think its hocus pocus, you may not be a good candidate. But no harm in trying if you think it might help and don't worry about the hypnotists, once they're professional practicioner, they won't touch you.........much

Why do people volunteer for hypnosis at those shows? Yeah let some guy hypnotize you and then make a complete tit of you in front of friends and strangers......nice :rolleyes:

Had it done to get off smoking and it's brilliant.
Basically it resets your mind back to your pre-smoking days and then it's upto you whether you want to smoke again or not.
Some extremely mild craving for 2-3 days and it's a piece of cake after that..
However...you must want 100% to give up smoking....hypnosis only works on those that actually want to do something... all of those twats who act like that in the shows are complete extroverts and would do it anyway if they were pissed out of their brains etc..

First time I was off them for 5 years and decided one day to have one , thought to myself..what's the harm back on them for about 2 years and trotted off back to the hyno dude then to get back off them.
The thing now is I know how easy it is to get off them...so every few years I go back on them for a while and then back to the dude to get me off then again when I get sick of them
It's great...now back off then 13 weeks...



ps...wear a belt beforehand and check that it's buckled in on the 4 slot...after the session make sure it's still in the 4th slot..walking funny is a giveaway as well

I'd love that, as mine is terrible!

Look up something called a Memory Palace.

Derren Brown covers it well, including other techniques, in his book 'Tricks of the Mind'.
