Does anyone know of a genuine way to work from home. I have seen lots of ads online, but am very dubious.

There must be some genuine possibilities out there, but how do I find them? Perhaps, proofreading, admin, help on projects, occasional additional work that don't require an extra hire in a company, research, ad hoc work, etc?

Irishjobs.ie have a search option for Working from Home, however each time I check it there is nothing available.

    Any help or suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hi

I started a small business selling items on the internet from home. Its still small and growing but I founf Amazon and Ebay good outlets to sell form and then moved onto my own site using www.shopify.com they provide u with a website template for free and charge a low monthy fee to host your shop.

So all you need to do now is decide what to sell. Pick someting you know someting about. Kids toys, shoes, car parts, old books ............

I found it very hard to get a simple guide to working from home but this is what I did.

Registered a buisness with the Companys registration office €25 you don't need to register for VAT unless you are turning over losts
Set up an account with bank of ireland no charges for first year
    Set up account with wholesalers
Set up an account with a courier www.dpd.ie they have lots of customers who sell online. You can get massive discounts on their prices for regular volumes of sales.

There is a great book by Robert Pugh regarding selling on ebay.

Even if you don't stick with this you will learn loads for the mistakes you make and if you start small your mistakes will be small too and then you can do greater things as you grow in confidence.

My sister did this & she's made it into a good little earner. She had to persist with it though so she could build up her status as a reliable seller (they have a scoring system on ebay & prob amazon). She also researched the hell out of what she was thinking of selling to see if it was actually selling.

I don't know if she read books about it before but I'd say research it, have a bit of money to put into buying stock & persist with it & you'll turn it into something good.

Have you any specific skill-set that you would like to do from home or is it just general jobs?

Mystery shopping is an extra earner. Won't pay that much and it's not strictly work from home, but you can pick and choose what area you take jobs in.
