An image based on the headshot, which came from photography service Getty Images and was labeled only as the Statue of Liberty, graces about 2 billion stamps, said Roy Betts, a Postal Service spokesman.

It took a sharp-eyed philatelist to notice that what was assumed to be Harbor Liberty, star of 23 previous stamps, was actually Hotel Liberty, interloper of drunken snapshots. The stamp enthusiast notified the Postal Service last month, Betts said.

Two billion misprints before anyone notices the difference. Epic fuhk-up.

Nothing epic about someone making a small mistake on a stamp, imo.

    Totally agree!

I was wondering too, if people have collected stamps that are wrong and have them in good condition and unstamped if they'd be worth any money? Probably not cos there was so many printed!
