Remove door card on Audi A4 2008 b8 model

    Hi

It seems nobody on the internet has ever done this and posted anything about it!

I'm trying to replace the drivers side wing mirror, but I can't figure out how to get the door card off. There's one torx screw right down at the bottom of the door, but taking that out didn't let me get the card off. I have a feeling that there are more screws underneath the metal trim, but I don't want to break that prising it off if they're not there.

Has anyone ever done this? Or even seen a Haynes manual or alternative for this model of audi? Would really appreciate some help.

    Cheers

Try looking at guides to previous models. Audi won't have changed the design of the door card mounting significantly, and you'll be able to gleam where the majority of the clips and screws are. Some clips might snap when taking them off if you're not careful, so be prepared to have to buy some.

Generally, the few times I've had to take VAG cards off, there's been screws hidden under armrests, inside door opening handles, beneath electric window switches, etc, and then a multitude of clips the whole way around.

Thanks PaintDoctor. The other torx screws are indeed underneath the metal door trim, but it looks like Audi packed the wrong mirror, so this will have to wait until another day.

Looking at guides from previous models is helpful, but I'll probably take a few pictures of the process and post them here to help anybody else, since it seems to be slightly different to older models.
