As per title, radiator bracket has come loose. Only at top on one side.

I suppose it needs to be drained down, disconnected, bracket reset and reinstalled, bled, inhibit, etc.

Are there no tricks to keep it held in place though.

Any thoughts. Walls are a bit soft, it was bolted in. It's a monster rad, 600 x 1600 dpc.

I can reach the bolt but it just turns. Plug is loose.

you can get a two part resin and reinsert the plug, failing that silicon on the plug and the bracket should work

No need to drain the entire system.

Knock off the valves on either side, you can then undo one of the valves slightly and place a tray or the likes under the joint to catch the water coming out. It will take a while but the rad will drain down and can then be then removed, by undoing the valves on either side.

If there's some play in the pipes, what you might be able to do is knock off the valves on both sides, slightly loosen the nuts that join the tails onto the valves (use a towel under each to catch any drips). Then lift the rad up off the brackets and piviot it forward. You should be able to piviot it 90 degrees and support on something (eg some phone books etc). The nip up the two pipes either side so there's no dripping. This will leave you free to sort out the problem bracket.
