well the summer is getting here slowly so planning a holiday.

I am planning on going for two weeks in July/August. The rough plan is to fly into Dubrovnik and spend a 3 days there exploring the city.

Next go to Hvar Island and chill there for a week on a little bit of a holiday relaxing by the pool, eating out, few drinks.

Then leave there and spend another 3 days in another city/town in southern Croatia, possibly Split, and then back down to Dubrovnik for the flight out of there.

Anyways any one travel in similar areas and got some advice on things to do and where to stay.

Also where would be the best place to get good priced flights???

We went to dubrovnik last year and loved it. We took flights with aer lingus which were reasonable enough. We stayed in Lapad which was outside the city and would recommend this area. There are several hotels and apartments for rent over there. We stayedin the Ariston/ Neptune hotel and it was lovely. A bus stops nearby that will bring you in to Dubrovnik it was a very good service. Cant offer advice on your other questions though.

Dubrovik town doesn't need three days, but the food is good and competitively priced so it is a place to chill.
Going North to Split is an idea, just up the road is Neum on the coast but in Bosnia i Hercegovina. Inland to Medjugore (BiH) there is good public services to this Catholic town from Dubrovnik and Mostar is also worth a look.
Going south over the border to Montenegro is incredible trip down to the fjord of Kotor town, the deepest fjord in Southern Europe. Kotor is a small fortified town built into the mountain with three small entrances through it's walls. Above Kotor are ancient paved walking routes to other historic places like the old capital of Cetinje.

There are regular ferries out of Split to other islands nearby. Or it should be possible to island hop up the coast aswell.

Did Split and Dubrovnik about 3 years ago during my interrailing trip and Dubrovnik is a hidden gem! Beautiful town, boats on the bay and the old town is amazing! Lovely weather and beaches. In 10 years time Croatia will be the new Greece so get there be it turns into just another Costa del sol or santa ponsa.

Went there last summer. Wrote a bit of a trip report type thing here.

It's an absolutely beautiful city. I found it expensive, but I'm used to Eastern Europe prices now. We stayed about 5 minutes drive from the city centre as the hotels were pretty pricey.
