just out of interest like. You see plenty of beetles, mercs, British cars etc at car shows but there aren't too many '70s Audis, particularly original Irish registered ones around. Or are there?

I have a Dublin Reg (ZJ) '73 Audi 80 and I'm just wondering are there any others out there?

Didn't you pull that out of the scrapyard in Kildare?

    How's it doing mechanically?

nah, that was a VIO reg '73 Audi 80. The body was comprehensively f**ked from sitting in a swamp for years but I salvaged a few bits from it to help restore the ZJ one which was a much better prospect from the start.

I know of a few and hopefully there are others yet to be discovered.

I know of 5 early 100 saloons, 2 are being restored the others are in good condition. There is also a 100 Coupe S undergoing restoration.

I know of a ZB registered Audi 80, it used to be the local bishops car from new, sitting in a shed most of its life since, in pretty good nick still too I think with low miles, white in colour, 1974-75 I think.

It's in county Cork, in good condition, I did some work to it about 20 years ago just to tidy it up and it was stored in a heated garage since. It won't be bought though, the guy who has it keeps all his old stuff, tractors, machinery, cars. Sheds full of stuff all in as new condition!!

The last time I saw one of these was in the early 80s...I didnt think any had survived? Was there an estate and 2 door version of this?
