whining noise when steering wheel is straight

    When my steering wheel is straight there is a weird noise if im drive or stoped the noise is there but as soon as i turn the stering wheel left or right if just a tiny bit the noise goes away.


    Any ideas what it could be ?

    What car? - If it's a MINI then I'd say that's normal, they have a very loud power steering motor which in my experience seems to act as you described - if it's something else who knows.

    The problem might be a loose or worn belt around or near your power steering assembly. What make/model/year is she?
