    Hi guys,
Just inquiring what is the level of sporting achievement neccessary to gain entry via this scheme? Has anyone here applied for this before,if so were you successful?

Also, the application form asks for a 500 word written statement, what kind of general information are they asking for here? Any other info regarding this would be really helpful..

It depends on your sport, e.g.

Athletics - compete internationally, or successfully at the highest level nationally

GAA - played at least minor level, breaking into senior level

Rugby - played provincial schools, e.g for Leinster develeopment squads

Soccer - played LOI or underage international, or competed successfully at the highest level for your age.

Most other sports, you would need to be competing internationally at underage level.

    Statement should/could contain:
your motivation on why you want to do the course and study at DCU
what you future sporting ambitions are
how can DCU help you achieve your goals
what would you personally bring to sport and contribute to your class in DCU

    I hope this helps.
