    Hi all,

Just wondering how everyone feels about the auditing assessment results that were released today? From what I've heard they were pretty awful across the board. How did others get on? Must say I'm fairly disappointed.

    Cheers.

    Hey,

I didn't hear about the results across the board but I was really disappointed with mine. The worrying thing is that I thought it actually went ok so I was very shocked with how badly I did. Do you know what the average mark was?

I don't know the average mark overall but I was talking to about 7 or 8 different people today and the results ranged from 3 to 7 with the majority getting 4.5 to 6.I got 6/15.I totally feel the same way, I thought I did pretty well in the assessment and answered strongly with good valid points. I couldn't believe my eyes today, although I had auditing last Saturday and the lecturer said she had been told by the institute that marks were really poor all over the country. How did you get on? It really has me concerned that June is going to be an awful struggle...The 7 or 8 I was talking to had been onto collegues around the country and marks were generally low, I mean anywhere from 2/15 upwards...

I got around the 6 mark as well. I came out of the exam hoping for an 8/9. I think they will be putting the solution up on the portal at some point but the problem is that I can't remember what I wrote on the paper so I won't know where I went wrong!! I wonder why the marks were low, I think people maybe weren't expecting it to be investments? It has made me worried for June, I thought that exam would be one of the okay out of the four, not sure now!

I got 8/15, happy enough with that considering the average results according to this thread ... I work in auditing, mostly working on investment funds, so I suppose I was at a bit of an advantage - I would imagine that, for anyone not working in audit, the exam would be a bit of a nightmare to study for.

Just around the 9 mark, happy with that, especially hearing how poor marks appear to have been. I suspect people may be overthinking these exams. At the end of the day they are testing our application skills and not really our technical knowledge. I hadn't a clue how to do the journals but in the other three questions I just kept referring back to the text in the question and applying theory to the facts presented. I feel this will always get a nice chunk of the marks and the Institute seem to be hammering this point home all the time.

I wouldnt be overly disappointed as in 2010 the marks were extremely low also, however the exam was ok and the pass rate was not too low.

    All is not lost!
