    Hi alll,

I cycle approx 20 miles per day. I am finding recently that i am very sluggish and feel drained. Think it may be my diet???

i am 5ft10 and weigh about 161 pounds. i eat a cereal in the morning, sandwich for lunch( ham and cheese) and some meat and pasta or rice for dinner. i usually drink about 4/6 litres of water a day. Over the course of the day i have a small bit of fruit.

Just wondering what my avg calorie intake should be etc?

    any advice would be great.

Impossible to tell calories without more details. "cereal" could be anything from 150 cals to 600 cals depending on the type of cereal and size of your portion.

What I can tell is that your diet is high in refined carbs and low in fruit and veg, and you are almost certainly not getting enough quality protein or healthy fats.

If I were you I would ask in the cycling forum - they will be able to tell you what you should and should not do.

Its a lesson I learned early when I got into running, for all kinds of advice, be it medical or whatever, someone who does *your* sport will give you better and more practical and focused advice than someone who is general many times out of 10 [clearly some general people will be amazing and some people who do your sport will be wasters!]

I've started cycling a lot recently. 38K trips. I have found that if I dont carb up before and during the ride I am in absolute ribbons by the time I get home / into the office.
