Viewing MacBook Pro On HDTV

I have my MacBook Pro (2010 model) running through my Samsung HDTV in mirror mode. The thing is once I close the display on the MacBook I loose the signal to the TV. I've done a bit of research online and it seems the only way to enable this "closed clamshell" mode is by using a bluetooth mouse or keyboard. Is there any other way to get around this as I have neither?

    Cheers

I've managed to do this but sometimes isn't that reliable. I think from what I remember is you need to:
    1. Have it plugged into the Mains
    2. have a Mouse or keyboard attached (I use a USB mouse) - Last time I tried, it worked without this....
    3. have an external display attached (TV).

Then when I close the lid, the laptop sometimes does turn off, but by using the Apple Remote it wakes the system back up and ready for use displayed on the TV.

I use insomniax for this, it stops your Macbook going into sleep mode when you close it down. http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/22211/insomniax
