    has there been many rugby matches especially in recent times where there hasnt been a try throughout the game ? .. at least 1 try in a game is pretty much a sure thing right :P ???

    England-Scotland last year for one. Not for the first time in that fixture of late either.

    The last HEC final in Dublin was decided entirely on penalties if I remember correctly.

    Ulster v Biaritz in this years Heineken cup score 9 -6

    Im pretty sure there was a match last year in the heineken and the score was either 0 -0 or 3-3,maybe someone can remember,it was lashing rain.

    Pretty sure it was Bath-Toulouse. Each team missed a good few shots at goal and DG attempts afaik. But yeah it was awful weather.

    oh so there have been a few rugby games in recent times with no trys surprised :O :(... i thought a try would be pretty much a sure thing im nt a big rugby fan if u havnt noticed :P

    was also wondering coz i read that paddy power used to bets somethin like "to be at least 1 try in a match" .. but they took that away coz they were losing too much money over it they were somethin like 1/100 ti happen

    1 or 2 English premiership matches a few weeks back. I remember a few 3 - 0 scorelines involving Munster and Connacht a few years back.

    I think that the 5-6 game between Harlequins and Leinster in the 2009 HC QF was even more unusual. To score a try and not score any penalties, drop-goals or conversions in modern day rugby (between two similar-ish quality teams) is practically unheard of.

    Iirc, Connacht V Munster in the M/L two years running 0-3 once in Athlone and once in the Sportsground.
