it was out my back garden somehow, no idea how it got there and its in very bad shape.
is there a way to contact the owner as i would at least like them to know its been found and they can have closure...

serial number is visible so will drop it up to the gardai in case its reported stolen or something

It's an older iPod Touch, also known as an iTouch. The volume buttons (visible on the right in the rear photo) indicate that it's not 1G and the absence of a camera means it's not 4G so it's either 2G or 3G and with the screen broken it's probably not worth repairing so I'd say toss it in the bin and forget about it.

How much memory does it say low down on the rear? If it's 64GB it might be worth repairing but you could get the screen fixed only to discover that there's water damage inside.

Its not. This is an iTouch.....itouch.jpg Named registered and used by Pasen so Apple couldn't use it.

I called it an 'iPod Touch' and said that it's 'known as an iTouch', I did so in the vain expectation that it would keep the pedants at bay, my mistake. I should have just called it an 'iTouch' and to hell with the consequences!

I'm on my second and I call both of them an 'iTouch' as does everyone else who owns one.

    Get over it.

Maybe you should have said "known by me as an iTouch" then? Maybe you could just try getting it right, rather than me getting over it?

If it was in your back garden so was the owner, I would be more concerned about why someone was in your back garden.have any of your neighbours houses been broken into recently ?? It may have been dropped by some one escaping over the back walls..

Unless it was someone who happened to have arms and may have thrown it there.

no ones house has been broken into and i would say its impossible that someone was in the garden without me knowing it (work from home and have 2 dogs...)

i'll be dropping up to the gardai later to see if they can find the owner

Go on, admit it, you don’t care, all you want is to add fuel on fire with this Itouch – ipod touch debate :D

My cousin mentioned something to me while in work. She had an iTouch, cracked screen but it had worked perfectly other than that. She cycles to work, North east Dublin area, and lost it. She wasn't happy about losing it, but she is signed up for a new iPhone instead of having the Touch and a Nokia in her purse instead of just one phone/mp3 player.

Maybe a coinsidince that it might be hers. Someone could have found it, saw it broken and chucked it.

    Meh.

They were to bring out a junior iTouch for tweens which was to be preloaded with songs (Hannah Montana shíte and the likes). I think the product name iTouch Kids didn't go down well and Herb from the marketing Department got the sack because of it.
