    Hi there

If I needed to be at the Hibernian Industrial Estate on a regular basis, can anyone advise on how I might get there on public transport from Lucan Village?
I am thinking bus and then luas, but I am not sure if the luas stops anywhere near the estate in question. Would it be a viable commute? How long would it take and would there be much walking involved? Any help much appreciated.

    Hi,

There are a number of options, however some of these will soon change when Dublin Bus introduces Network Direct for Tallaght. I'll list both before/after...

    Currently:

    Option 1

Bus 25/66/66a/66b/67 from Lucan Village to College Green, then switch to Route 77, just two stops back at the junction of College Green and Pearse Street. Route 77 leave you very close to the entrance of Hibernian Industrial Estate.

    Option 2

Bus 25/66/66a/66b/67 from Lucan Village to Chapelizod and change to a 76/76a/76b. These routes take you to Belgard Road at the junction of Airton Road. From here it's a 10 minute walk to Hibernian Industrial Estate.

    Option 3

Bus 25/66/66a/66b/67 from Lucan Village to Parkgate Street, change to Luas to The Square. From here it's a 15 minute walk to Hibernian Industrial Estate.

    After Network Direct:

    Option 1

Bus 25/66/66a/66b/67 from Lucan Village to College Green, change here to Route 27 (stop to be confirmed). This will run to Tallaght replacing route 77.

    Option 2

Bus 25/66/66a/66b/67 to Liffey Valley and change to either Route 76 which will take you to Belgard Road (as above) or change to Route 166 which will take you to The Square in Tallaght which is a 15 minute walk to Hibernian Industrial Estate.

I'm not sure where you are in Lucan, but new Route 166 will operate from Liffey Valley to Tallaght via St. Loman’s Road, Willsbrook Road, Castle Road, and Ballyowen Road. This might suit you as a direct service.

    Option 3

Bus 25/66/66a/66b/67 from Lucan Village to Parkgate Street, change to Luas to The Square. From here it's a 15 minute walk to Hibernian Industrial Estate.

I would suggest using a prepaid rambler ticket, or a tax saver ticket which is available from your employer. This will save you cash and are more convenient when changing buses etc.

Another alternative is the 151 from Foxborough to the Halfway House at Crumlin Road and then 77 from there to Greenhills Road.
