Not the hrv if you need boot space.

Is fuel consumption a priority? The Hondas are fond of petrol.

    4wd versions anyway

My daughter has a CRV, and while its a nice drive, it is indeed keen on filling stations.

    Why not another Rav4?

i will not be doing big mielage, the rav4 i have is also thirsty, auto box is a must, most of the auto rav4s that are advertised are jap imports, almost impossible to get the immisions down, any other ideas guys, i have 1300 euro to spend, as i said high seat and an auto box priority, some room in the boot required a bit more than my rav4.

I looked into getting a HRV once until I realised they ain't as big as you'd think. A fair majority of the auto HRV's will also be jap imports, and the autobox is a CVT box and not a very good one IIRC.

A CRV will not be any less thirsty, ditto with the HRV which has only a 1.6 litre engine to shift it around.

If you have no need for 4wd then widen your field of view. Something like this:

We used to have a 02 CR-V manual and it was pretty fond of the petrol. On a long haul we would get 31mpg around town you were looking at 24mpg.

Brother had an Auto Box of the same year at the same time and it was a bit of an alcoholic. He was getting 26mpg long runs and 20 mpg in around town!!
