Anywhere to get a decent cheap pair of running runners, Lidl or Aldi had them last week but completely forgot to pop in and get a pair.

    Cheers.

    Maybe...
    http://www.mandmdirect.com/products-Saucony-Mens-Grid-Prestige-Running-Shoes-White-Navy-Denim_SC217.htm @ ~€21

(P&P for total order is €5)

Possibly other cheaper pairs there would suit depending on size needed... using their search functions might find end of stock items with just a few sizes remaining :)

This isn't the way to approach a 'bit' of running. Runners are, as with most sporting goods, specific to the characteristics of the individual. Get yourself properly assessed and avoid the potential of niggling injuries. Yokes such as those in Aldi and Lidl are not graded to the different running styles, etc.

Drop into to some like amphibian king and they will assess your ruling style to ensure you at least know the type of shoe that suit your style.

This is not a plug, but sound advice from one who has learned the lesson

Asics are opening soon in Kildare Village. Nike & Reebok are already there and prices for oddments are for very little money and plenty of regular models are 40-50% off.

Definite + 1 to this. Runways on Parnell Street will pop you up on the treadmill and choose the best runners for you based on your gait etc.

Agree with this also, get proper runners, most Elverys sports shop do Gait test now. I learnt the hard way but since I got the proper runners havent had a niggle or injury since!
