    Hi guys,
Just interested in who people think may take charge after Colm Tucker's departure?

I'm a shannon man but in college in Dublin so don't get a lot of info up here :)

just for the record i think cully is a great coach having done a few pre-seasons with shannon..

Would love to see Niallo take a role there but I'm not sure if he is involved anywhere else.

SHANNON RFC could be close to naming a new head coach after the departure of Colm Tucker and his assistant Ger Casey last week.

It is understood that a new name has emerged over the past few days with talks at an advanced stage.

The possible appointment of the coach, a member of the leinster squad this season, has been hinted from within the Shannon camp but no official confirmation has been received.

Are you signing this as Stephen Keogh or speculating/hinting it may be Keogh?

:D I saw that link on MFs.com and asked about it being Hogan or Keogh but didn't really get an answer. Would Keogh have enough experience to coach a Senior Club like Shannon?

Hogan is in college in UCD for the next 3 years so it wont be him.

Maybe Keogh, cant see why they'd want to appoint him though after having a young inexperienced coach for 2 years, a project which failed, although i guess Keogh would be player coach.

Keogh's never struck me as the manager type.

i know i'd like to see both a seasoned, successful coach and a shannon man beside him.

shannon have fallen so far behind and have a lot of building to do if they want to be top of the table again IMO

A super player but one which didn't have much luck. He improved when he went to Leinster and was very good but was in a position which had a lot of competition. In another era he probably would have got a range of international caps.

I always rated him as a player and now that he has turned his hand to coaching I wish him well and hopefully will bring some much needed improvement to Shannon.

suprised at 28 he's happy to walk away from professional rugby, wouldnt be at all suprised to see him lining out with Munster A's next season.

That makes sense. He'd be a good squad player in Munster and Leinster have enough for that position. He'd have a better chance of a game at Munster - I think.

He'll have a much better chance at a coaching gig there too which I suspect could be at the back of his mind long term if he can do well with Shannon and keep in with the Munster set up.
