Just when coming out of gym last night it struck me that while I was there for hour and 30 minutes at 8pm in evening (fairly packed) I did not see one other person do squats, deadlifts, power cleans, bent over rows as part of their routines. Not that i was busy looking around and that but the amount of people who obviously dont do the serious compounds in their routines must be shocking. Just an observation!

Results in less/no waiting on racks and platforms. Every cloud...

Could be worse, could have loads of people taking up the squat rack and room in general.

Like some lads in my gym that insist on facing the wrong direction in the squat rack and walk backwards to unmount it regardless of how many times they've been told to stop by the instructors! Or the dreaded teaching somehow to deadlift with a rounded back, idiots! Sorry, rant over :o

Ah yeh the wait is fine. just wonder why lads fools themselves staying away from the lifts that will benefit them most and stick to the ones that they are not that taxed by!

Agreed. My gym is the exact opposite of what you describe, it's hard to get a squat rack or near the deadlift platform in the evening. I thought this was a great thing when I joined, but now that my only time to hit the gym is the evening it's starting to do my head in :( .

I left my last gym because everyone seemed to know what they were doin, couldn't get near a power cage, bench or barbell for the life of me!

Back in my old gym now, never waiting for big lifts.... most people far to interested in bicep curling :D

Ive noticed a direct correlation between how many eastearn europeans are in the gym and the frequency of compound lifting with bigger weights that people do, maybe its just a case of people joining the dots when they see a bigger guy doing X compared to a smaller doing y.
I still smile when I see starved looking gym goer doing set after set of wrist curls

I see even less people doing sets of chin ups or pull ups.

People (beginners especially) can be sneery towards bodyweight excersises. My roommate saw me doing chins at the gym one day and asked why I was doing stuff I could be doing at home.

You should have said "I've no spotter at home" :pac:
