Need to buy a pair of needles in the next week or two, but am pretty at a loss. Research says Shure Whitelabels are a good bet for what I need, would ye vinyl people agree?

No aspirations to ruin tracks with bad scratching, so just normal mixing.

i use a set of trackmasters and i find them brilliant, great quality sound off em, have them about 3 years now and never had a bit of bother with em.

Try and get some Stanton 680hp's. Loud, clear sounding and bulletproof. Best needles I've used, I prefer them to trackmasters or concords

I would have to say i find stantons very durable, have some on my decks this past 15 years, now granted they dont get spun very much at all latley (i plan to rectify that) but they got a good innings from say 2000 to 2005 & the stantons still sound great when i throw on the odd vinyl now.

Only if you'll be using them primarily for scratching/turntabalism.

I've got the Whitelabels and they sound pretty amazing, plus they don't look half bad either.

I've also got whitelabels and agree they are great...M44Gs are also well recommended by many folk although not used them myself

44g's would be the better option for what grimey's lookin for, better sound quality and they hold the groove just as well as 447's when weighted properly.

I prefer concordes to cart/headshell combinations cos the chances of messing up your alignment with concordes are a lot less. As in, the chances of ruining records with carts/headshells are higher. I play my records a lot, so it's quite a concern... Ortofon at the moment.
