PSPgo and games deal

Apologies if there's already a thread on this, I checked the last few pages and did not come across one.

I was looking up info on the NGP and came across this promotion by Sony. Basically, buy a PSPgo and it seems you can download the 10 best selling games for free from PSN. This seems too good to be true, has anyone else done this yet?

Assuming that the PSPgo is included in the recent eurozone price drop to €129, this seems like an amazing deal. Am I missing something here? Is it as good as it sounds to me, or is there something that I am missing?

I am also wondering why it is specifically for the PSPgo. What are the major differences (if any) between it and the regular PSP?

    Cheers

They are digital copies of games so are for the Go, it was just a promotion to boost sales the 10 games you get range from very good Assassins creed, wipeout and Fifa to very poor games like pursuit force. Not sure if its still on or not.

PSP Go is digital download only its smaller and handier to carry around but you cant buy games in stores.

This offer was definitely on last year anyway. Good offer but you're tied to the Playstation Network and their prices if you go for the offer.

Offer seems to be still on with play.com but not sure if they deliver electronics to Ireland or not.

Cheers for the replies folks. The offer runs until August I think. Not so sure about getting it now tho. I would prefer physical copies of games - nothing wrong with getting some free downloads, but I would want to be able to purchase in a brick and mortar shop afterwards.

It looks good but digital download only is an absolute sham and IIRC Kingdom Hearts was only released on the older PSP models for fear of illegal downloads of the game.

They really shot themselves in the foot with it. If I were you, I'd wait until the NGP is released.

There were rumours that it would be delayed due to the disaster in Japan but it seems to be on course to be on shelves in the third quarter of this year.

The NGP will play digital versions of PSP games, but it can't play UMDs. Keep that in mind OP.

Just like with Steam, if you only buy your games during the special offers and sales, you can get a lot of games for very little. Don't see how digital downloads are a 'complete scam' when the sales they have are much better than the ones in GameStop and sometimes even better than Play.com and sites like that. Digital downloads also can't go out of print, which has happened to quite a few PSP games.
