    Is it worth the cash?

Been on a head riot trying to decide between saving up for an M82 or continue with an M4 project.

TO be honest, In my opinion, and I've only held one once, they really seem to be totally impracitcal for skirmishing! Very heavy, very cumbersome, and I can't really see much benefit to them except as a wall hanger (an expensive one)
    Just my 2c :)

Of course it's not worth the money. Then on the other hand it's worth every penny.

If you really want an M82 then you'll do whatever you have to in order to buy one, just be aware that it will be next to impossible to skirmish with, and that you won't have any advantage over every other AEG/sniper.

If I had the money I would buy one, just to have it, but it would never leave the house.

Even in the UK, where sniper rifles (when bolt action) can go to 500, or where our aegs fixed to semi can run to 370, the m82 is sadly not worth it. Even bolt action airsoft variants.... For the size, its no advantages over a light, small, vsr10.
Its lovely, dont get me wrong, but its a huge heavy, cumbersome weight. If you want to carry one... do, but dont think because its an m82 its 'awesome' or going to 'kick ass', bexause its still an m4, or an aps2 inside...

if it was 8mm, and allowed higher fps, it would be entirely worth the weight.

A cheaper alternative would be the snowwolf clone of the M82 it's a third of the price, that's if you can find one! It also has proper full sized detachable mags unlike the €1200 socom gear version
