No thread yet? Pool fans must have written this one off already :p

But wait, there's hope when you see the City team -

Hart, Boyata, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov, Yaya, Barry, A. Johnson, Tevez, Milner, Dzeko.

No De Jong or Silva. Mancini must have an eye on Saturday.

The Reds team in full is: Reina, Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Aurelio, Lucas, Spearing, Meireles, Kuyt, Suarez, Carroll. Subs: Gulacsi, Cole, Robinson, Shelvey, Maxi, Wilson, Ngog.

I think City are favourites for this one with that defence for Liverpool, and Spearing needs a big game as well. Hopefully Caroll will get off the mark tonight.

    AJ v Flanagan? Nice

Is Silva on the bench. I'm only asking because if he doesn't play at all then Odemwinge comes off the bench in my FF team ;)

EDIT: he is on the bench and almost certain to come on after 85 minutes picking up 1 point in exchange for the West Brom striker's 15. I know no one cares but I had to share :(

Will go with a 0-0. If theirs a goal it will be from City but here's hoping we keep it tight at the back. Will be great to see Flanagan out there.

Going by some of the reserve games hes a bit more attacking Steve Finnan in the making. Will be a big test but good luck to the lad:) Would have liked to have seen Suso or Sterling on the bench..

Yeah and if he has a good game can you imagine the confidence it will give the lad starting in a big game like this, though its only against city i suppose:p

He looks a real prospect but this is a major step up, probably much earlier than expected. That said, you don't know how good a player can be till he is tested at the highest level.

Would've liked Silva to be starting to be honest.

as a liverpool fan I can't understand why we're favourites tonight, even with the home advantage.

Will Liverpool line up in a 442 with Meireles on the left, or a 451 with Carroll up front on his own and Kuyt, Suarez and Meireles behind him. I hope its the latter, really dont like seeing Meireles used out wide.

    Can see a 4-2-3-1.

Flanagan is a good prospect, gool ould traditional RB, likes strong tackles.

Indeed, they were horrible to watch last week.

Starting Flanagan is a brave move, but at least it keeps Soto out of the side so worth the risk.

    Ah balls Wilkins again :(

They're horrible to watch away from home usually. Think they might have a go at Liverpool tonight. They should do.

Milner and Barry? This is looking like a snooze-fest already.

In fairness, in nearly every big game they do go into their "must not lose!" shell.
There's nothing wrong with that, it just bores the tits off most people.

The minutes silence or are you just saying that?

Is Wilkins the main co-commentator now or something? He should have stayed on his feet in the studio...
