sony 32v5810 freesat no signal

    i bought a sony 32v5810 and am slowly setting it up, set it to ireland, and tuned in the analogue channels from the rf2 out of a sky+ box, then attached a feed from my sky+ dish directly to the tv and tuned in the satelite free tv and radio channels. this is the info that came up

    satelite1 astra 28.2e, eurobird 28.5e

    lnb config - universal, auto, disabled, 13/18v
    scan type - network scan
    transponder - 10744mhz, horizontal, 22000ksym/s
    signal quality - maximum
    signal strength - maximum

    found loads of free channels, took a while.

    then i was remembering reading here by fat tony about entering a uk post code, and that i was never given a page to input it so i scanned the boards and it said to set the tv as uk, in auto start up, and use eg. w1a 1aa for london.

    so i set it as uk, tried to scan for satelite channels, choose freesat, and the signal quality and siqnal strength are now minimum, no signal. it wont scan, and i still havent seen a enter post code page, im guessing it comes after this roadblock no signal page.

    somewhere along searching around in uk mode i saw the transponder down as 10714, not sure if this is of importance, couldnt find how to change it to see if that might work

    any ideas guys, fat tony.

    (im just going through the long irish re-tune now so i have some channels in the mean time.)

    think i got it, set up page, scroll down, full factory reset. restart as uk. :)

    That's the one - factory reset. Have you a TV aerial also? The Sony will pull in Saorview also. I'm not sure why you're using the RF feed from the SKY box other than to supplement the Freesat channels with SKY subscription channels perhaps?

    yep got it running, didnt know the page scrolled :o, cheers, and freesat is much better option as per your recommendation :), actually bought the telly mostly off your posts, super picture.

    sky is in the room next door, subbed for the sport package, so the rf2-out is to mirror the sports occasionally, and the aerial for saorview is next on my lazy to-do list.
