    Hello,

Does anybody know is is normal for someone to have to wait 3 months for a second consult?

The consultant gave me a higher dose of meds for depression and I am currently not functioning well, all of which he knows. However, i just got a letter saying my next appointment is in three months....seems ludicrous, and dangerous if this is the norm.

I've been trying to ring, cant get through.

    Is this normal?

    cheers

This is not me medical advice, but from personal experience.

Is this your first consultation? More importantly is this your first time being prescribed anti-depressents? I assume you are on an SSRI and if it is your first time on them I would find it very strange you are not going to be seen for three months. Almost all SSRIs carry a warning that they can increase suicidal ideation originally, and even if this is just an increased dosage, the same applies.

I would suggest you go see your GP who referred you in the first place.
