What height should a camper/caravan storage shed be?

I may have to turn an agricultural pen (block wall on 3 sides up to about 5 ft) into a shed, so may make it dual use as a winter shed for caravan. With a view to future proofing, any ideas how high the clearance should be? I'd imagine campervans get higher than caravans.

Also debating whether to continue with blocks or put up a steel frame and galvanise sheets (like you do with haybarns - normally you build the beams into the block wall but not possible in this case). Probably go with blocks, leave one side open for animals, and get a "door" made of sheet metal on timber that just gets put in place when lock up for winter.

Without knowing the height of your van, or any that you may have in the future, I'd be planning at least 4.5 metres. As most vans come in at around 3 metres high, that'd give you enough clearance to get on the van roof for cleaning or repairs while parked up.

3.5 meter clearance should fit most vans ...even with fitted sattelite dishes and the like ...but remember you'll need the 3.5 meters clearance over a width of 3 meters.

Also, newer vans tend to be rather looong. Seven meter + seems to be the rule rather than the exception.

regardless what height your camper is , try have at least a metre to spare , that way if you change you'll still have room to spare.
