    Hi,

I am installing MHRV and also two solid fuels stoves in a new build. I am familiar with the Stanley stoves and like their performance, however does anyone have any advice on the best type of stoves to install with MHRV?

The stanley's are 77.5% efficient and now come with an outside air kit which is suitable for MHRV.

    Any advice would be appreciated

A lot of clearview stove models come with an external air kit:D. Clearview stoves are supposed to be the best stove you can buy.

Depends on the output required but woodwarm also do a 4.5kw stove with external air supply.

A website of different stoves reviews by owners. http://www.whatstove.co.uk/.

There may be others. Good luck in your search, Stove Fan:)

I have a morso with external kit (6000 series) and MHRV, all work fine. This is wood burner so you might be after a multi fuel which may limit your search. Also you have to consider how much heat you need. A well insulated room I think is 1 kw output per 10m2 of floor. If you are burning wood, you should consider the size of logs the unit will take, some take logs bigger than others, not a problem if you are cutting your own. Your own taste is everything, you may just not like some brands and looks and you will have to live with your choice (so do not go on rating alone).

That the stove is suitable to be run in a building equipped with a MHRV doesn't mean that the MHRV is suitable to run with a stove.

You would need a pressure differential which switches off the ventilations if needed, all of them.
The system (the combination of stove and ventilations) must be self securing. No risk when opening the stove for re-fueling or de-ashing !

do these (pressure differential switches), there are many other manufacturers as well. Make sure your installer isn't using you as a guinea pig. Read the manual, stick to them, make sure someone is responsible for the maintenance and the checks. There would be only one failure and no chance of repeating the trial.
