Apart from normal wear and tear items on a small 10 years old + car you should check that all engine warning lights etc are working properly(coming on with ignition then going off when started) as ecu issues are fairly common.
Check that the rad fan comes on and works quietly, as these are a very common failure. Make sure the cooling system heats up properly, check for hot air inside etc.

They can suffer other random failures so make sure everything electric works. Mechanical parts, suspension, brake etc are fairly tough so other then wear and tear shouldn't be big issues.

Test everything electrical properly and take your time. Apart from small mechanicals on my heap of a 206, the electrics like indicators, fogs, lamps, dash lights and center console lights are on the blink constantly.

Yep this is an expensive repair on the 206's.
Have a look at the rear of the car and if the wheels look like this
    /
\ then the rear axle is worn.
Also grab the wheels in the 12 o'clock position and give them a good hard pull/push to check for movment/knocking.
    Best of luck.

Sounds trivial, but make sure the indicator stalk is in good nick, very common for them to go in a 206.
