Do not buy an Android netbook. It is not designed for netbooks, and not supported whatsoever.

Really lie the look of this one Toshiba AC100, IBOOD had it on offer last week for €224 with 3G connectivity. But screen resolution is odd and no Android Market support.

    🧐IMHO, God wants us all to ENJOY many,many ice-creams , 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

Do not buy an Android netbook, most pc software or any windows software and most pcs games wont work on Android netbook because Android netbook is linux operating system (OS) netbook not windows os netbook and very unlikely you find pc software to work on a Android netbook or any Android device

I've heard nothing but bad reports about these things, I'd stay clear. AFAIK they don't have access to the Android market either.

Despite what other posters seem to think, there are a couple of options open to you.

If your budget (it's a must to include this in your first post, by the way) would stretch it, the ASUS Transformer is an amazing little machine. I'd pre-ordered one myself.

Of course they won't, it's Android.

I have a D255. It runs some bastardised version of froyo as standard and really isn't isn't worth having. When I formatted to install 7 pro I lost the android install and there's nothing on the acer site to get it back.

Now I'm dual booting ICS from Android x86 and that works much better, it's effectively a tablet with no touchscreen but the mousepad works well.

pc software can work on a Android, if u download WINE for Linux, Wine initially was an acronym for WINdows Emulator, Wine is a free and open source software application that aims to allow computer programs written for Microsoft Windows to run on Unix-like operating systems. Wine also provides a software library, known as Winelib, against which developers can compile Windows applications to help port them to Unix-like systems.

Did none of you idiots read the OP? Its DUAL BOOT! He has W7S to use too. Android is just a preboot for quick things.

Quick question to the OP, just double checking do you actually mean Android as in the phone or tablet version? or are you confusing this with Google Chrome OS?? Personally i dont see the point in using some thing designed for tablet/phones on a laptop unless maybe its for a quick boot situation or if your track pad has multi touch. Google Chrome OS now i wouldnt mind giving that a go on a dual boot

I've been running the ICS build from android-x86 on Asus EEE 900 and 701, and particularly for the 701, it's a huge upgrade.
The mousepad works well for interacting with it, though not as neat as touchscreen.
Two fingers on touchpad can drag between homescreens and double tap for zoom.
I do however have a touchscreen for the 701 which will probably be going into it shortly as I've got a broken one which is good for parts :-)

There are plenty of apps that won't work as they have ARM code in them, but most apps I wanted work fine. Worth a quick download to try on any netbook.

    Hmmmm, I have a 701....tempted, tempted indeed.

Easypeasy is nice, but I never use it so why not.

The 701 doesn't have multitouch, so the two finger drag that works on the 900 doesn't work on it. I've 1GB RAM in the 701, but I'd expect it to work with 512MB.

Download the image called android-x86-4.0-RC1-eeepc.iso and copy it to SD card.
You can run it live if you don't want to lose easypeasy, but I put it on disk with writable system.

If you're familiar with grub, you should be able to get dualboot going. I did that on the 900 as I have two SSDs in that and there's more room.

Have fun, and post back how you get on!
