This might sound stupid :o but just wondering,if a learner driver gets car insurance and when they get their full License,is it possible to be refunded the difference between the learner insurance rate and the full licence car insurance rate?.

id have to say no way.
you pay a rate a time thats based upon your risk, just cos your risk changings doesnt mean you can back date it,

in that case everyman whos 60 can backdate for higher insurance they payed for when they were in their 20's

your insurance should drop as soon as you pass the test, mine did

A friend of mine got a refund. She passed her test around 7 months after getting her permit and they refunded her the difference. It might depend on which insurance company you are with.

Yes generally insurers will refund you depending on the time left on the policy.

Yes they do, how much you'll get depends on the usual factors, and time left on the policy. I got around €30 refunded. I'd paid up front, but I'm sure if you're paying monthly DD they'd reduce it also.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Depends on how long is left in the year

I get very little back from my insurer when I passed, despite having about 4 months left on my policy. It's just the way it goes.

I got pittance back on mine. I had paid €1300 for my first even insurance. Just under 6 months later I passed my test. So I contacted my insurer looking for some money back and all i got was a measly €130. Better than nothing, I guess, but I was expecting loads! This was with Zurich, by the way. I am also no longer with them!

Got about 300e back from quinn direct when I passed my test. I think it depends on a number of factors, age, time left on policy etc. Any money back is better than none I reckon:)
