Nothing has surpassed Alan Partridge yet in the comedy stakes for me.

Toss up between The Wire and the Sopranos for best drama.

Got a nerdy fetish for Time Team lately. Love it. :o

Really enjoy Blue Bloods and Modern Family.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 159 ✭✭thegoodgirl

That is such a hard question just to pick one.
Comedy would have to be Modern family I still cry with laughter watching it. The big bang theory is a close second
Drama is difficult to choose but I'd probably go with Greys Anatomy cause I've been a huge fan from the very begining.

Like Bored to Death and Bones, watched all of Boardwalk Empire on Sky but don't think I would be bothered if I didn't see it again. Gave up on No Ordinary Family a few weeks back. Rewatching Spaced on more4 even though I have it on DVD.

Yup.. been catching up on Justified and about half-way through the second season, and it's even better than the first!

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 35,731 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

I'm going to start watching Justified I think. If it's anywhere near as good as Breaking Bad I'm all over that.

    Fringe. It's awesome.

    Dam, thats a tough question.

I tend to lean towards shows that have many seasons though, as much as I love father ted and fawlty towers, just not enough episodes to really get into it for me.

even arrested development cuts it too short for me, I love the fact that I can spread friends, fraiser, the gilmore girls, criminal minds over a long period of time and then a while later start again because with so many episodes to got through by the time you get through them its been ages since you seen the first.

Comedy: Black Books, I.T.Crowd - good aul Graham Linehan (Misspelt?)
really enjoying Campus too but it needs to improve, which I feel it will.
    Drama: Shameless USA
    Current Affairs: good aul V.Brown
Doc/general: Dual Survival (a barefoot hippy and a war veteran show survival techniques). They have a tendency to take the sensible route like going around waterfalls - unlike Bear Grylls who skydives naked into Piranha infested pools with worms tied to his privates from the highest point of the waterfall where, just off camera, there is a elevator with tourists eating popcorn and buying souvenirs. I have learnt how to survive the Tundra, the Desert and the mangrove swamps of Louisiana. Very useful indeed.
& Ax Men - a bit more posed than the first series, but still great watching.

Lost, BSG, Firefly are the only ones that stick out for me. There hasn't been much on lately that's shining out for me. would go for the first seasons of 30 Rock for my comedy, it's kinda strayed a bit in the last season or two :/

It absolutely has to be, without a shadow of a doubt MAD MEN. I think it was the last episode of season 4 last mon. on RTE 1. I've Sky plus-ed it as its broadcast quite late on a Mon (could never understand this). So still enjoying my fix.
