Upgrading M4 for nice, crisp, responsive semi shot

Right was thinking off upgrading the owl M4 as my changed as changed alot and mainly I'm using semi with the rare short burst.

I have a G&G M4, it already has a 6.04 barrel so not gonna touch the barrel only thing I'm going to add would be a gaurder clear hop rubber mainly to give it that extra bit of range.

Just wanted to get people's opinions on what they think would be the best way to do this, thinking along the lines of a higher torque motor and few bits upgraded in the gear box like a silent piston head.

My budget at the moment would be around the 80-100 euro mark but could change over the next week or two if I can manage to cut out spending money on the ciggies :P

If anyone has any suggestions on what to use or what they used to achieve a satisfying responsive semi I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Cheers Harvey:)

High speed motor, and some high speed gears, will give you a faster trigger response. I'm sure adjusting the AOE will have a positive effect on it as well. A mosfet will be a requirement also, due to the extra wear on trigger contacts, from using semi only.

If you are at all motivated to give up the fags for good (As if the price wasn't motivation enough). I recommend "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by "Allen Carr". It makes giving up effortless. I haven't even considered looking at another cigarette in the four years since I gave up (I was on 40 a day towards the end). I have given my book to a number of friends when they expressed interest in giving up, and it has worked for them also. It will work for you too, you just have to want to give.

I don't mean to sound preachy, and this definitely isn't the place for it. But to make it semi related to this particular section of boards... think of all the luvly gear you could get yourself with the savings!

Thanks for the input will be considering that, just want to see what other people think about what to do :)

Ah no everyone has their opinion on it :p but airsoft and cigs are my luxuries these days, but i might even just go the cheap route with the owl tobaccy save meself the couple of extra quid then put that in with the funds i have put aside for the upgrades ;)

Forget the gears, the stock set is fine. Also, a high torque motor is pointless. They're designed for high-power (ie. above 1J) rifles to overcome the much stronger springs. What you need is a high speed motor.

Upgrade the wiring, stick in a good MOSFET with active breaking, change the battery for an 11.1V LiPo and replace the motor with a good high speed variant like the G&P M130 or TM EG3000.

The combination of those should ensure the most sensitive trigger response possible.
I wouldn't bother touching the gearbox internals yet. There's really no need. G&G's gearboxes are well shimmed, have good gears, a solid piston set and usually runs on bearings rather than bushes. Upgrading them will do very, very little.

Guarder hop rubber and possibly change the barrel to a tightbore (6.04 is good, but you'd be surprised what an extra .01mm can mean). Not at all essential, but I tend to change them as a matter of habit when I'm changing my hop rubber and/or unit.
