Can anyone clarify if the looming government shutdown would effect visas issued through the embassy in dublin. It has already been said that should the shutdown go ahead the State Department would continue to provide emergency consular services to U.S. citizens in need. But other services, such as issuing travel visas and passports, could be delayed or stop.

It's not happening but yes, IF there had been a shutdown, no visas would have been issued for the duration.
