Galaxy MP5K wiring issue

    Hey guys,

I've got a Galaxy MP5K and it jammed. I stripped it and fixed the jam, but now the gun won't shoot.

I connect the battery, and when I pull the trigger, I can hear something going on in the gearbox, but it doesn't follow through...

The fuse is intact and the battery is charged. Otherwise the gears wouldn't make any sort of move.

Just wondering should I strip the gearbox and see if it's an internal issue?

try an unlock first b4 you strip it.either push the piston back with a long skinny screw driver through the nozzle or remove the motor and release the reversal latch(i use a long pin with the end bent into a hook).you might have to use a screw driver on the bevel gear to ease the pressure while you pull the latch.then make sure the wires have good contact with the motor terminals for good transfer of power.if that fails check all wire connections to make sure they propperly connected(not loose). other than that you might have to open it up and have a look

it actuall sounds like the piston might be caught on the wrong tooth??? where then youll have to open it but try the unlock first

When you pull the trigger is it just a click sound? like the motor is trying to turn over? if so you might want to see if youve wired the motor backwards.

If youve gone and wired it backwards it'll try and turn in the opposite direction. Giving you the clicking sound. If thats not it, its something else in the gearbox

It clicks and I can feel something shift in the gearbox.

At first I though that might be the case too, but I swapped the wires around and around to no avail.

From my readings unlock seems the most likely option... But sure I'll give everything a whirl. I might have to take the gearbox apart... :(

If it's locked, you could also try, using a high-powered lipo battery (borrowing one would be.cheap option) give it a quick burst and it may unlock.
Only do it if the other way doesn't. Which it should.

Have you taken it to one of the shops to get it checked out?

I'm fond of the free option myself. If I'm desparate stuck then I'll have to go to one of them though.

I might try the heavy battery option if I'm stuck too... Cheers for that suggestion!

just so happens i had a lock up myself on the feild yesterday and i only had a small phillips screwdriver in my possesion and a long walk to my car.
i know a motor has some spool up time so what i did was (AND IM NOT RECOMMENDING THIS AND TAKE NO RESPONSABILITY IF YOU TRY IT) was to take off the motor plate(the motor dissengaged from gear) and pull the trigger, let the motor run and then pushed hard and fast on the plate engaging the motor.to my supprise it unlocked the gearbox. i havent looked at the pinion or bevel gears yet so i dont know what damage,if any has been done.
but all the same i was supprised it worked and i was able to carry on playing the rest of the game/day

ive just had a look and theres no noticable damage other than a small bit of normal wear and tear or couldnt spot any hairline cracks on pinion either so i reckon i got lucky:D

The unlock didn't work so I'll give a new battery a whirl. Cheers for the help guys!

if it wasnt locked up there must be something stuck in the gears stopping them fron turning

A faulty spring caused the screw holding the piston/piston head to sheer its thread from twisting too much and thus it fell into the gears and ate them up and the gearbox died

EDIT: On me own AEG that is
